Wave upon wave, the disappointments roll in,

As they billow and roll, I find it hard to swim.

The lies to myself and regrets from the past,

Are poison to the soul and for decades they last.

They cause much derision and make me lose sleep,

And sometimes the crevices run quite deep.

I fall in and find it hard to get out.

Because I am not sure that anyone hears my shout.

If I lose sight of who God says I am, and rest on that truth,

I stay in the doubts and lies from my youth.

It was for Freedom that Christ set us free,

And His way is sure, and He did that for me.

He is the Rock on which we can stand,

When we lose hope, He offers his hand.

PRM – 7/4/20

Galatian 5: 1 (NASB) – It was for FREEDOM that Christ set us free; therefore, keep standing strong and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.
