So Much Noise

There is so much noise in the air,

It is hard to tune it out.

To sit still and hear our thoughts

To validate what life is about.

It is much easier to turn the volume up,

To be passive and go with the flow.

For the path much less traveled,

Is to ask questions against what we think we know.

For it is in these questions,

That real answers can be found.

About making our truths congruent,

Making square a square, and round a round.

Some of us come to different conclusions,

But it is honesty we seek.

With ourselves, with others, and with God,

As we move from week to week.

These current times are volatile,

With updates minute by minute.

It is like one giant movie screen

Except that we are living in it.

So take time to pull back,

To soberly assess your life.

Are you where you thought you’d be?

Are you in the midst of strife?

As I have been given additional breaths for now,

I want to clear out any confusion.

For it is in these moments of calm,

I remember who God says that I am and confirm that His love isn’t an illusion.
