Breath

Each and every breath I take,

To You O Lord I give.

To speak and sing of Your true love,

For this alone I live.

For years and years I couldn’t see,

Or feel You at my core.

But through the pain and through the tears,

You’ve taught me even more.

And when, today, I got the news,

That my lung scars have progressed.

I stopped right in my tracks,

And once again confessed.

That You alone can calm my heart,

My doubts and all my fears.

For so long I tried to stuff them down,

And wasted all those years.

You have helped me read between the lines,

And understand my story.

You have helped me change my legacy,

To give You all the glory.

So now to You my Healer,

My breath I freely give.

You hold my life in your gentle hands,

And in Your Love I live.

PRM – 10/8/21

Let all that I am wait quietly before the Lord; for my hope is in Him. He alone is my Rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.

Psalms 62:5,6
